Helmet description

Superb replica of the unusual Verden helmet, dated between the 7th and the 9th century. This helmet was possibly found at the very beginning ofthe 20th century during field works near the town of Verden an der Aller in Lower Saxony, Germany. It was published by W. A. Wilbrand in 1914 ( Zeitschrift für Historische Waffenkunde), and there wasn't more works about it before the last years. We only know that this helmet and a spearhead were both found nearby and belonged to a warrior who drowned in a swamp as there were no traces of a burial
On the aesthetic level, it recalls the helmets visible in Carolingian illuminations (as Willbrand guessed) but recent studies indicate that this helmet iis from Asian origin which belonged to an avar warrior.
This helmet is quite similar to helms used by Tibetan & Chinese warriors, tending to proove that his owner was from central-Asia, and not "Carolingian" at all.
Ideal for a central Asia warrior, 7-9th century.

----

Made of 2mm "st3" steel. Nasal part 3mm thickness.
Everything is hand-forged by quality craftmens. Chainmail is hand-made, from the wire, to the final riveting by a specialized maker. We do not provide any chainmail / helmet from India, or Pakistan!
Produced on order, within 4 weeks only!

Shipping costs are calculated after the helmet is manufactured.
Indeed, the weight of a helmet varies greatly, depending on the model, the size, and whether or not a chainmail aventail is added.

*Our goal is to charge the customer the actual amount of postage, and not a penny more! It therefore seems more appropriate to us to proceed in this way, rather than to estimate shipping costs arbitrarily, with a margin of safety which would unfairly affect certain customers.
