Eastern fashioned civilian caftans - Central Asia / Nomadic tribes

Mongols / Cuman (Kiptchak) Kaftans

These kaftans are characterized by an asymmetrical flap, and rich silk brocade decorations arranged along the flap, along the collar, as well as on the bottom, the cuffs, and the biceps. These caftans are closed with silk laces and a belt.
Wool exterior.
Natural linen lining for comfort and thermoregulation.
All visible seams are handmade.

Seldjuk and Near Eastern caftans

These caftans are quite close to caftans from Central Asia. So far, we reproduced one caftan, from MET museum, and created several less "richer" caftans for reenactors, aiming to reconstruct low-class extracted or medium wealthy warriors. We are of course open to new projects, from the simpler to the more extravagants!

The Moschevaya Balka caftan!
Alanic / Nomadic (early middle age)

The many kaftans from Moschevaya Balka are all characterized by this characteristic cut, very loose at the bottom of the garment, split on the sides. Fully made of brocade silk (Simurgh pattern). and lined with linen, or made of linen only and decorated with narrow silk brocade stripes. The senmurv pattern, which is one of our best-sellers, is oftenly reproduced in various colours. There is green and red artifacts registered across the whole Europa, around 8-9th century.
