A few words about this fabric
This fabric, originating from Central Asia, is currently housed in the Louvre Museum in Paris.
Historically, this fabric comes from the Abbey of Jouarre, in the Carolingian realm. The fabric traveled along the Silk Road, eventually reaching the Frankish territory. Numerous examples of fabrics originating from Central Asia are known throughout Western Europe during the Early Middle Ages. These imported goods were considered luxury textiles.
