Original artifact from England, late 10 century (952-954 AD). Eric "bloody axe" was a viking / hiberno-norse king, settled in England, Northumbria.

On the obverse:
Ruler's title across two lines, sword right and triple pellets between.
Lettering:

·REX
Translation:
King Eric
On the reverse:
Cross pattée with pellets in quarters within inner circle, moneyer's name around.
Lettering:

Translation:
